What is the definition of a photograph?
A photograph (also known as a photo, image, or picture) is an image created by light falling on a photosensitive surface, usually photographic film or an electronic image sensor, such as a CCD or a CMOS chip.

Why do we photograph?
Picture provide a platform for our individual and unique perceptions of an experience. There is no single story in an image, all of us project our own perceptions fueled by the memories of a particular feeling at the time the picture was taken. Social media has shifted the importance of taking pictures.
